Canton Zürich Will Pay CHF 25,000 to Victims of Forced Care

From 27 April, people who were subjected to forced welfare measures or forced placements before 1981 can apply for a cantonal solidarity payment of CHF 25,000.

To be eligible, applicants must already be recognised as victims by the federal government, and the measures must have been ordered, carried out, or supervised by a Zürich authority. Those who have already received a solidarity payment from another canton or the City of Zürich are not eligible for a second payment.
